12-hour night shifts, with a requirement for weekend work, typically every other weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) will provide critical care to patients with a variety of complex medical conditions. This role requires comprehensive assessment and management of patients, particularly those with cardiac diagnoses. Nurses in this position will be part of the Resource Float team and may rotate to other appropriate units as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to patients with acute and progressive medical conditions.
Manage telemetry monitoring and nursing interventions for patients on cardiac drips.
Assist in post-cardiac catheterization procedures.
Administer insulin drips and manage complex medication regimens.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
NIHSS certification required prior to start.
Experience with telemetry and cardiac medications is essential.
New York RN license or proof of application with an applied date is required.
Epic experience within the past 2 years is non-negotiable.
