Ultrasound Technologist

Location

This position is located in a facility within the United States.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Days; 8-hour shifts with varied call rotation.

Job Description

The Ultrasound Technologist operates medical imaging equipment that directs high-frequency sound waves to the anatomy for diagnostic purposes. The role involves ensuring high-quality imaging for Radiologist interpretation and interacting compassionately with patients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and demonstrate adequate imaging of anatomy for proper diagnosis.
  • Consult with radiologists for exam reviews prior to patient discharge.
  • Provide ultrasound guidance for attending physicians in special procedures while ensuring proper demonstration of anatomy.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and notify Clinical Engineering if needed.
  • Verify clinical history and ensure appropriate patient orders and identification.
  • Fully utilize ultrasound units and probes, obtaining adequate images and correctly labeling body parts.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of PACS and send images as required.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to HIPAA standards.
