Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The nurse will demonstrate the ability to perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, manage pain, and provide education to patients and their families. Responsibilities include ensuring age-appropriate care, managing medications, and coordinating with other healthcare providers for an interdisciplinary approach to patient needs.

Schedule

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 36 hours guaranteed per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments as per policy.
• Utilize appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
• Develop and revise individualized plans of care based on patient responses.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families, minimizing the risk of healthcare errors.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient needs and care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation that meets current standards and policies.
• Manage and operate medical equipment safely and correctly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Postpartum and nursery experience is required.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications through AHA.
• Active Ohio or compact nursing license.
• BSN degree is preferred.
