Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering. The RN is responsible for compliance with standards of practice and professional development as per the New York State Nurse Practice Act and relevant policies. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with policies.
• Participate in effective resources utilization including staffing and time management.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Perform duties related to Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3 years of current experience working in an Emergency Department.
• Traveler experience preferred with knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatric care.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
