Job Description
We are seeking a skilled RN to join our Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a 13-week contract position. This role involves caring for patients in a cardiac progressive care stepdown environment with a surgical focus. The RN will be responsible for managing patients post-operatively, including those undergoing CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting), and will require floating to like units as needed.
Schedule
This is a 12-hour rotating shift position, with day and night shifts. Travelers are required to work 2 out of the 4 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Day.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of experience in a cardiac progressive care unit.
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required; PCCN certification is preferred.
- Experience with large trauma level 1 facilities within the past year is mandatory.
- Epic electronic medical record experience within the last 2 years is non-negotiable.
- Cardiothoracic and vascular experience, along with post-operative care experience for heart surgeries (open/closed) is required for submission.
