Job Description

We are seeking Medsurg skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) for a Medical Surgical / Oncology unit. The ideal candidate will possess extensive inpatient experience and hold an Oncology Certification (ONC). Responsibilities will include administering chemotherapy, managing various intravenous lines, and providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with a range of medical-surgical diagnoses, including those with oncology histories.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to medical-surgical patients with oncology histories.
  • Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy as mandated.
  • Manage intravenous lines including accessing ports, blood product administration, and peripheral line care.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and overall condition, intervening as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with isolation precautions and other safety regulations.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care plans.
  • Assist with wound care and manage surgical drains and chest tubes.
  • Support patients in understanding treatment processes and care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg or Oncology setting.
  • Must possess an active RN license (North Carolina or Compact license).
  • Oncology Certification (ONC) required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Experience with colostomy care, managing PICC lines, and administering insulin and heparin.
