Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM; 1 hour lunch break, performing 4 outpatient echocardiograms in the morning and 4 in the afternoon.

Job Description

The Adult Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for ensuring that Cardiology services rendered, which include the evaluation and treatment of patients, are completed in a timely, accurate, and reliable manner. The candidate will provide services to both inpatients and outpatients and maintain collaboration with UHS staff and affiliated community groups.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac ultrasound exams, including 2D, M-mode, Doppler color, TEE, and stress echocardiograms.
• Interpret exams for preliminary reports, identifying critically abnormal findings and communicating with physicians.
• Clean and disinfect TEE probes according to infection control standards.
• Record and report results of all procedures accurately.
• Respond to requests for "stat/emergency echos" during non-scheduled hours.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with Service Delivery Standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Attention to detail and strong collaboration skills.
• Continuous learning and initiative.
• Judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving, and reliability.
• RDMS Certification from ARDMS or RCS from CCI is required.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Associate's degree in Cardiac Ultrasonography from an accredited institution is preferred.
