This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour evening shifts are available. The nurse will work 3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the next, totaling 36 to 48 hours per week, with a minimum of every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will provide critical care to patients presenting with various emergency conditions across age ranges from neonate to geriatric. This role requires comprehensive assessment, treatment, and management of emergency medical situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and provide immediate care for life-threatening conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Perform emergency procedures including IV therapy and EKGs.
• Participate in inter-professional team meetings to enhance patient care.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) via EPIC-ASAP for documentation.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine.
• Active NY RN license or proof of application for licensure.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS.
• Preferred certifications: CEN, ENPC, CPEN, and ABLS.
• Experience with EPIC preferred within the past 2 years.
