Job Description
The IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit) requires experienced RNs with expertise in monitoring patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions. Common diagnoses include COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and postoperative care. The unit consists of 64 beds, with 15 designated for neuro patients. The registered nurses will be expected to operate specialty equipment such as temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap, and Neptune Vapo.
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse patient population with complex needs.
- Floating to other departments may be required as needed.
- Provide high-quality nursing care while using EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU or PCU.
- Travel experience is required.
- Active New York RN License and all RN licenses must be verified via NURSYS report.
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are necessary.
- Two recent references from IMCU Charge or Manager RNs are mandatory.
- A valid driver's license with an address that matches your demographics is required.
- A skills checklist must match the specialty required.
