Part-Time with 2 shifts of 12 hours, including day/night shift rotations, every other weekend, and holidays.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skills in the area of cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient/family needs through active listening and social perceptiveness.
• Create individualized, culturally relevant care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Promote, advocate for, and protect the health, safety, and rights of patients.
• Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
• Engage in self-evaluation of practice and take accountability for professional development.
• Motivate patients and families by teaching necessary self-care and providing tools for post-discharge support.
• Encourage and build mutual trust and cooperation among team members.
• Comply with infection prevention strategies.
• Conduct rounds and ensure patient/family engagement and safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State RN Licensure required.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
• One (1) year of experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse required.
