Full time, 3x12s (7p-7a / 7a-7p), every other weekend and holiday, includes 2 on-call shifts in 4 weeks.

Job Description

The Acute Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) applies nursing theory, technical, and communication skills to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops and executes a plan of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates progress, and coordinates care throughout each patient's episode.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing knowledge and skills to assess patient/family needs.
• Develop individualized, culturally relevant care plans.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust the plan of care as needed.
• Provide patient and family education for continued care post-discharge.
• Engage in teamwork to promote optimal patient outcomes.
• Comply with infection prevention strategies and ensure safety.
• Foster a caring relationship with patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current NYS RN Licensure required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• One (1) year of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse required.
