Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide patient information and status for team conferences and documentation in accordance with policy.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, ensuring quality patient outcomes through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel while maintaining a positive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested and identify personal professional growth opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience.
• EPIC experience required.
