Night shift: 7pm - 7am, 36 hours per week, every other weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response. Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is a key responsibility. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
• Utilize a working knowledge of pharmacology and administer medications safely.
• Contribute to productivity and effective resource utilization.
• Comply with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in professional development and mandatory educational requirements.
• Integrate nursing research and evidence into practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Perform duties related to Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator when assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3 years of current experience working in an Emergency Department (ED), with traveler experience preferred.
• Knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatric care.
• Associate's degree from an accredited School of Nursing (Bachelor's preferred).
• Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
