Job Description

The Medical Imaging Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients. Utilizing their specific modality, they create diagnostic images and provide patients with a safe and positive experience. In radiation-producing modalities, technologists practice and enforce radiation safety measures in compliance with New York State Department of Health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical imaging procedures according to established protocols.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, New York State regulations, and accrediting agency standards.
• Provide appropriate patient care considering age and special characteristics.
• Engage in ongoing education and support for both personal development and training others.
• Create diagnostic images while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate degree in Applied Science required.
• Diploma in X-Ray required.
• Graduate of an approved professional academic imaging program required.
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered required upon hire.
• New York State registration or a limited permit to practice required upon hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Previous experience in the field is preferred.
