This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Shift: 7a-7p / 7p-7a - 3x12s, every other weekend, holiday rotation with additional on-call shifts.
Job Description
The contract requires a commitment through the holiday season with no guaranteed time off for the major holidays. Candidates must be licensed as a registered professional nurse in New York State and hold current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (via RQI System) during clinical orientation. Additional certifications such as Basic Coronary Care and CPI must be obtained within specified time frames post-hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients in the ICU, considering age-specific needs across pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric groups.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while dealing with patients and their families.
- Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Adapt to multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- New York State RN license.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA/RQI certs only), NIHSS.
- Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire.
- CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Preferred: Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association and TNCC within 2 years of hire.
