This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

The position involves a night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, including every third weekend and holidays as needed. Floating to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU) may be required.

Job Description

The Emergency Department (ED) at our facility is a 74-bed department, including a 3-bed trauma bay and a secure unit for behavioral health patients. The ETCU serves as a staging area for patients who need further evaluation and care after being assessed in the main ED.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department and the Emergency Transitional Care Unit.
• Manage various emergency situations, including trauma, acute psychosis, and critical medical conditions.
• Administer medications and perform necessary procedures, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Implement isolation precautions and infection control measures as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level I Trauma Center or equivalent emergency care setting.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required.
• Epic charting system experience is preferred.
• Previous charge experience is beneficial.
• First-time travelers are not accepted.
