Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required.

Job Description

This position is for a Float Nurse within the HICU, BHU, and Burk 2 (LTC Vent unit) that provides care to patients requiring close monitoring and frequent interventions. The role involves floating to various units including ICU step down, Brain Health, and LTC vent unit. Candidates must possess strong organizational and nursing skills to assess and manage patient care effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to stable but critically ill patients who may change in condition rapidly.
• Manage specialty equipment and devices, including G-tubes, PICC lines, chest tubes, and mechanical ventilation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Engage patients in rehabilitation and activities to support their recovery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of critical care nursing experience is required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
• Valid Maryland or Compact nursing license required at the time of submission.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
