This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 4x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekdays and every other weekend.

Job Description

The Med Surg RN will work in a 12-bed inpatient oncology unit that also accommodates med/surg overflow. Experience in oncology is preferred but not required. The nurse will provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients, focusing on administering chemotherapy, monitoring treatment side effects, and offering education and support to patients and families.

Responsibilities

Administer chemotherapy and manage infusion therapies.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and side effects.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and care.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams.
Maintain thorough patient records in Cerner EMR.
Handle chemotherapy administration and disposal of cytotoxic spills safely.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Minimum of 1 year of RN experience; 2 years preferred.
Current RN License in West Virginia or Compact License (pending licenses accepted).
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ONS Chemo/Bio certification preferred.
Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
