Day Shift: 3 days a week, 12 hours per day.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees as required. Safety for patients and employees is of utmost priority, and the RN will uphold Select Medical’s commitment to superior quality care and a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Accountable for accurate documentation of patient care in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning from day of admission and patient teaching.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel effectively.
• Maintain the safety of personal and environmental conditions.
• Contribute positively to the team and unit environment.
• Maintain communication with management regarding supply and equipment needs.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested after orientation.
• Pursue professional development and education actively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to starting.
• ACLS certification required prior to starting (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience required.
• Minimum of one year of ICU experience highly desired.
