ICU RN - Intermediate Care Unit Float Pool

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour AM shifts.

Job Description

The ICU RN will be part of the Float Pool, providing care in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), step-down units, and occasionally assisting in medical/surgical units. The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, with a maximum ratio of 3:1. The RN will assess, implement, and evaluate patient care under the supervision of a licensed physician, promoting individualization of care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care according to standards of nursing practice and departmental policies.
Monitor and manage complex patient conditions such as withdrawal syndromes, hypertensive urgencies, and diabetic ketoacidosis.
Direct nursing support staff in patient care procedures.
Conduct assessments, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to enhance patient care delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Active PA or MSL Compact Registered Nurse License.
2 years of experience in a related clinical specialty area, with at least 2 years of general RN experience.
Basic Life Support certification required; additional certifications per specialty may be required.
