Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team on the night shift. This position has become available due to the retirement of staff members and the subsequent need for an expanded service line, which includes the opening of a third Surgical ICU and an increase in IMC units. The ideal candidate will have experience in a tertiary teaching hospital and demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to patients in acute and critical care settings.
- Assist with intubations and extubations as necessary.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Ensure the proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care.
- Participate in patient education and support.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 3+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a level 1 trauma or teaching hospital setting.
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred; NRP for NICU required.
- Experience in NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ER, and adult acute and critical care.
