Schedule

3x12 Hour shifts: Day (07:00 - 19:00) and Night (19:00 - 07:00) rotation, including every other weekend and availability for some holidays.

Job Description

The MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide care primarily for patients with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), acute Myocardial Infarctions (MI), post device care (such as pacemakers), and patients experiencing arrhythmias. The nurse will be responsible for cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and the use of Rapid Response and Code teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a MedSurg/Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
• Utilize EPIC charting system to document patient care and treatment plans.
• Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy procedures.
• Care for patients using respiratory support including nasal cannulas and oxygen administration.
• Implement isolation precautions as necessary.
• Perform wound care and manage wound vac equipment.
• Participate in floating to various units as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a valid New York State RN license in hand.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a MedSurg/Telemetry setting.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Experience with the EPIC charting system is mandatory.
