Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses, as well as advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely, following United Health Services policy.
• Engage in activities to support productivity and effective resource utilization.
• Participate in professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new staff and students.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of six months to three years of nursing (RN) experience.
• Current New York State RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Experience in a cardiac tele department, including TAVR, watchmans, and cardiac drips.
