This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Nights, 12-hour shifts from 1845 to 0715, scheduled for 36 to 48 hours a week.

Job Description

The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse will provide compassionate care for adult and geriatric patients in a locked inpatient setting. The position requires proficiency in managing a variety of psychiatric illnesses and implementing de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

Monitor and assess patient health status and needs
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Implement de-escalation techniques to manage agitated patients
Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to develop patient care plans
Maintain accurate patient records using the EPIC electronic medical record system

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Behavioral Health Unit
Experience with pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients
Recent travel nursing experience
Certification in de-escalation training (CPI or equivalent)
Current BLS certification
New York State Registered Nurse license
