Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for the care of individuals and families while ensuring compliance with standards of practice and professional development according to the New York State Nurse Practice Act and various nursing policies.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely per hospital policy.
• Participate in nursing practice standards and quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and maintain current nursing education requirements.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Perform duties related to Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator as assigned.

Schedule

This position involves a night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, working 36 hours a week with every other weekend required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• ED and psych experience required, including substance use and crisis intervention.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• ACLS, ENPC, TNCC certifications required.
• Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
