Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN is committed to promoting patient and employee safety as a priority within the organization's culture, adhering to all established safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, creating individualized care plans based on assessment data.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to establish care goals.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in a patient rehabilitation program, focusing on direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status to support continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team building activities.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and continuing education opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position involves working the night shift for 3x12 hour shifts per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
