Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills to deliver high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient/family needs and creates individualized plans of care.
• Promotes health, safety, and rights of the patient through advocacy.
• Teaches patients and families about care and self-management.
• Evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
• Builds trusting relationships with patients and families.
• Administers medications and interventions as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure Required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS
• One (1) year experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse.
