Job Description

We are seeking an experienced PCU/IMC Nurse for a mixed acuity unit. The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience in PCU/IMC within the last three years. The unit handles medical-surgical telemetry patients, and nurse-patient ratios are adjusted based on patient acuity.

Responsibilities

• Manage a variety of patient diagnoses including surgical pre and post-operative care, trauma surgery, orthopedic surgery, and overflow medical diagnosis patients.
• Implement IV insulin protocols, manage dysrhythmias, and provide care for renal failure patients.
• Administer medications, manage blood products, and perform phlebotomy and line care management.
• Utilize telemetry for monitoring cardiac rhythms and respond to code situations with rapid assessment.
• Perform specialized procedures such as tracheostomy management and wound care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of recent PCU/IMC experience.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required; PALS is preferred.
• Must hold a valid New York state nursing license.
• Telemetry monitoring experience is essential.
