FT day or night shift (3x12s) scheduled as needed, including EOW, holiday, and 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period.

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The ED RN assesses patient need, identifies urgent or emergent care priorities, and collaboratively provides direct care, applies appropriate interventions, and evaluates patient progress.

Responsibilities

• Connects with patients and families during triage, addressing their comfort needs and keeping them informed.
• Conducts primary assessments, detects deviations from norms for all age groups, and identifies necessary interventions.
• Encourages teamwork and cooperation among staff to achieve the best patient outcomes.
• Prepares patients and families for diagnostic procedures and post-emergency care, emphasizing education and retention of key points.
• Maintains awareness of patient conditions throughout their stay in the ER.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (Must be AHA or RQI)
• Two years of acute hospital experience as an RN
• One year of ED hospital experience as an RN
