ICU RN - Intermediate Care Unit Float Pool

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position. The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is part of the Float Pool, focusing on a patient population that includes Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU levels of care. The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, ensuring that IMCU nurses provide optimal care without floating to med/surg units. Floating will occur only between the IMCU and step-down units, with a maximum ratio not to exceed 3:1 on any unit.

Responsibilities

Assess, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients under the direction of a licensed physician.
Collaborate with patients, their family members, and healthcare professionals to individualize patient care.
Direct nursing support staff in providing patient care in line with established standards and policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
2 years of experience in the area of clinical specialty required and at least 2 years of RN experience in general.
Current PA or MSL Compact Registered Nurse License required.
Basic Life Support certification required; additional certifications may be required based on specialty area.
