Part Time (2x12s) - day or night shift, scheduled as needed by the client, including EOW (every other weekend) and holidays.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skills in the area of cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring. The RN is accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care by assessing patient and family needs through active listening and analyzing data.
• Creates an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team, setting goals and monitoring patient progress.
• Promotes and advocates for patient health, safety, and rights.
• Evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and makes improvements based on Quality Improvement activities.
• Motivates patients and families through education on continuing care and healing at home.
• Encourages teamwork by building trust and respect among team members to achieve the best patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure Required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• One (1) year of experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse
