Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will provide care in a fast-paced Adult Emergency Department managing over 100,000 visits annually. As the only Level I trauma hospital in the area, the nurse will be responsible for treating a diverse patient population with a wide variety of diagnoses, specifically focusing on care for med/surg boarder patients within the ED. The position involves a patient ratio of 1:5 with assistive personnel available.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to med/surg boarder patients in the Emergency Department.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate care plans.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in emergency response situations as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State Registered Nurse License (required)
• Two (2) years of Med/Surg experience (required)
• Telemetry experience (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
