Schedule
The shift is night, with a 3x12-hour schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Every other weekend coverage is required.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Charge RN role in a dynamic unit that caters to adult and geriatric orthopedic patients, as well as medical-surgical patients. The unit offers telemetry monitoring and has a physical therapy gym that allows for comprehensive patient care without leaving the unit.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage patient care on a 29-bed unit.
- Provide nursing support for high-volume patient populations including those with total joint replacements, fracture repairs, and medical/surgical patients.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
- Ensure compliance with all clinical and hospital protocols, including EKG testing.
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff on unit practices and policies.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with required Charge RN experience.
- BLS certification is required.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and Epic charting system is necessary.
- Must be prepared to pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam as part of compliance.
