3x12.0 rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights; weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback as needed.

Job Description

As a Level 1 RN in the psychiatric unit, you will conduct intake assessments, plan and provide nursing care, and collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans for clients. You will administer medications, document patient information, and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and their relatives to gather case history.
• Plan and provide comprehensive nursing care for patients.
• Make nursing diagnoses and recommend appropriate treatment options based on medical and emotional status.
• Consult with psychiatrists and other staff in developing treatment plans.
• Administer psychotropic drugs and monitor reactions.
• Coordinate with medical staff for further attention as necessary.
• Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and the need for treatment.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
• Document all patient information on medical charts and adhere to physician orders.
• Perform administrative tasks such as filing and completing progress notes.
• Provide high-quality customer service to patients and public.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse license in New York (NY License ONLY).
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a psychiatric setting.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• CPI Certification required.
