Job Description

The Vascular Technologist provides care for adult and geriatric patients during procedures, preparing patients for examinations and reporting any clinical changes in patient condition to the RN or physician. They assist with the communication of STAT results and abnormal findings to NPs, PAs, or MDs. Additionally, they document all procedures accurately, ensuring all studies are labeled and identified in the medical record while entering relevant charges. The technologist is also responsible for reporting equipment malfunctions, assisting colleagues, cleaning their work area, and replenishing supplies. Strict adherence to sterile procedures and infection prevention standards is required.

Responsibilities

• Cares for adult and geriatric patients during vascular procedures.
• Prepares patients for examinations and reporting changes in conditions.
• Communicates STAT results and abnormal findings to healthcare providers.
• Documents all procedures accurately in the medical record.
• Reports equipment malfunctions and assists with related duties.
• Maintains a clean work area and replenishes necessary supplies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of two years experience as a Vascular Technologist preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in CVT technical skills.
• Graduation from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology.
• RVT/RVS certification preferred; BLS certification required.
