Job Description

The Vascular Technologist cares for adult and geriatric patients during procedures, prepares patients for examinations, and reports clinical changes in patient condition to the RN or physician. Responsibilities include contacting NP, PA, or MD with STAT results and/or abnormal findings and appropriately documenting all procedures, including labeling and identifying studies. The technologist will also perform related duties such as reporting equipment malfunctions, assisting colleagues, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area while replenishing supplies. Adherence to sterile procedure standards and infection prevention is essential.

Responsibilities

• Cares for adult and geriatric patients during procedures.
• Prepares patients for examinations.
• Reports clinical changes to the RN or physician.
• Contacts NP, PA, or MD with STAT results and/or abnormal findings.
• Documents procedures accurately in the medical record.
• Assists with special assignments and cleans the work area.
• Maintains standards of performance with sterile procedures and infection prevention.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of two years of experience as a Vascular Technologist preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in cardiovascular technical skills.
• Must be able to take call.
• Graduation from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology.
• RVT/RVS preferred.
• BLS required.
