Schedule

Full-time position consisting of 3x12-hour shifts, rotating between days and nights as needed, plus every other weekend and holiday shifts, along with 2 on-call shifts every 4 weeks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies nursing theory, technical skills, and strong communication abilities to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families. The RN assesses patient needs, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop a plan of care, provides direct patient care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care throughout the patient’s episode.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing knowledge and skills in delivering effective patient care.
• Assess patient and family needs through comprehensive evaluation and direct observation.
• Create individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Provide education and resources to patients and families regarding self-care and health management post-discharge.
• Engage in quality improvement activities to enhance nursing practice and care delivery.
• Develop and maintain trustful relationships with patients and families, acknowledging their central role in the care process.
• Administer medication and implement nursing interventions safely and effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State RN Licensure.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association or RQI only), NIHSS.
• One year of experience in a Medical/Surgical Nursing environment as a Registered Nurse.
