Job Description

The Critical Care Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment, specifically within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting. The nurse will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The role requires the ability to float among varying ICUs and the emergency department as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU, ensuring high standards of nursing practice.
• Monitor and assess patient status, responding to changes in condition promptly.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and in accordance with nursing protocols.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 18 months recent Critical Care/ICU experience.
• MUST have 18 months of permanent ICU experience prior to travel.
• Active Ohio nursing license or compact state license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
• Two recent references from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for.
