Job Description
The LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the Nursing Process effectively for patient care.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in planning care.
- Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
- Delegate patient care priorities appropriately based on staff experience.
- Provide direction and supervision to personnel delivering patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Two to five years of clinical experience required.
- ACLS & BLS certifications through the American Heart Association are required.
- Experience with vent/trach, knowledge of central lines, and preferred wound care experience.
- Must have NC or multi-state compact RN license.
