Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated MedSurg RN to join our Intermediate Care unit (IMCU), a critical care step-down unit providing exceptional evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients. This unit is equipped to handle patients requiring specialized care beyond general medical-surgical capabilities, including those needing continuous monitoring and acute interventions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
• Provide care for patients requiring airway management, BIPAP support, and IV therapy.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias effectively.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Implement isolation precautions and adhere to hospital policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid New York State license.
• 1 year of MedSurg RN experience is required.
• BLS certification is mandatory; ACLS and NIHSS are preferred.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
