4x10 hours, Days; weekends, holidays, on call/callback per unit needs with call 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends of call per month.

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality imaging services to patients while demonstrating excellent patient care and a spirit of teamwork. The position requires expertise in interventional radiology techniques and will involve working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to produce diagnostic quality radiologic images.
• Work cooperatively with department members to resolve issues promptly.
• Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.
• Assist the Radiologist during procedures.
• Administer oral contrast as needed and report equipment malfunctions.
• Complete assigned procedures in a timely manner, utilizing downtime for assisting colleagues and clerical tasks.
• Maintain medication security for authorized personnel only.
• Maintain awareness of patient rights and deliver care with empathy and respect.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two years of experience in Radiologic Technology.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
• Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in New York.
• Experience in Neurosurgery/Neuroscience is required.
• AART certification is required.
• VIR certification is a plus.
