Schedule

This position requires a schedule of 36 hours per week, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on 3x12 hour shifts with specific times to be determined. Candidates must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts.

Job Description

The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures by utilizing x-ray equipment, verifying patient identity, and ensuring high-quality images are captured as per physician orders.

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' identity and review physician's orders prior to x-ray procedures.
• Utilize x-ray equipment to capture radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns.
• Properly position patients, which may involve lifting and moving those with limited mobility.
• Ensure safe and proper handling of radiologic equipment, minimizing patient exposure.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
• Notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
• Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient details and exam specifications.
• Maintain accurate patient record keeping and assure images are submitted correctly to the PACS system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and maintain certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure or ability to obtain prior to starting.
• Minimum of two years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience using c-arm/o-arm in the past 8 months.
