12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with weekends, holidays, and call required.
Job Description
The PCU RN will provide quality patient care and assess patient needs, including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual requirements. The nurse must recognize safety issues to self and others and ensure safe patient handling practices. Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate are essential, as is the capacity to function well in stressful situations.
Responsibilities
- Provide thorough patient assessments and implement care plans accordingly.
- Ensure the safety of patients during transfers and other procedures.
- Assume charge nurse duties when required.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current RN license in the state of New York.
- Critical care experience preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred.
- Basic lethal dysrhythmia certification within six months of hire.
- NIHSS certification within the first six months of employment.
- Previous travelers must have completed at least one successful assignment.
