Job Description

The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care. Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the established FMC policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for each patient according to the nursing process.
• Provides quality care based on assessment needs and established plan of care/pathway.
• Educates the patient and family/significant other from admission through the discharge process.
• Documents the nursing process/pathway thoroughly, concisely, accurately, and legibly.
• Notifies the physician of pertinent observations and changes in the patient's status.
• Administers medications and performs treatments accurately and safely.
• Implements physician orders as written and assures equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate degree in nursing; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio.
• CPR certification required.
• Previous nursing experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; problem-solving abilities; critical thinking.
