Job Description

We are seeking a qualified MedSurg RN to join our team in a dedicated Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). The unit offers critical care step-down services, providing exceptional, evidence-based care to adult, acute care patients who require a higher level of attention than what is available on a general medical-surgical unit. The RN will be responsible for managing patients with varying needs, including continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring, airway management, and IV therapy.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
• Provide skilled nursing care including diagnosis and management of dysrhythmias.
• Administer IV therapy and phlebotomy, ensuring proper line care and management.
• Utilize advanced respiratory care methods including BIPAP support.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of MedSurg nursing experience.
• Valid New York RN license (in hand).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• EPIC charting experience is a must.
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac drips.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE.
