Job Description

The High-Risk Maternity Care Unit is a fast-paced environment requiring experienced RNs to provide exceptional care to obstetrical patients, including those at high risk. The unit handles a significant volume of births and patient admissions daily, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and acute care.

Responsibilities

• Circulate for C-sections and perform sterile vaginal exams.
• Provide immediate newborn care and support for high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients.
• Utilize obstetrical triage to screen patients prior to admission and conduct outpatient procedures.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort while adhering to infection control protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume obstetrical unit, with a preference for 3 years.
• Certifications required: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP. C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN.
• Experience in circulating for C-sections is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with a proactive approach to patient care.
