Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for individuals and families in their care and is accountable for compliance with professional standards according to the New York State Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with organizational policies.
• Participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model.
• Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.
• Provide support and guidance to new employees and students.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Required experience in cardiac telemetry, including familiarity with TAVR, watchmans, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, and various cardiac conditions.
• Strong communication, judgement, and critical thinking skills.
• Experience in acute care or ambulatory settings is preferred.
