Schedule

Full Time, 3x12 hour shifts - day or night shifts as needed, including every other weekend and holiday, plus two on-call shifts per four weeks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skills in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of patient/family needs through active listening and observation.
• Create and implement individualized plans of care while collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Provide patient/family education to promote understanding of self-care beyond hospitalization.
• Document the care provided and patients' responses to education.
• Encourage mutual trust and respect among team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain infection prevention strategies and report potential safety risks.
• Promote a healing environment for patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current NYS RN Licensure required.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS.
• One (1) year experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse.
