Job Description

The Licensed Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, including conducting head-to-toe assessments, managing pain through appropriate techniques, and developing and revising care plans based on patient responses. The nurse will ensure safe medication administration, tailored to the patient's age and condition, and engage in effective teaching plans with patients and families to enhance understanding of care plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments and reassessments of patients.
• Utilize effective pain management techniques.
• Revise and evaluate care plans daily.
• Manage patient care with an understanding of age-specific guidelines.
• Administer medications following established protocols.
• Develop and activate teaching plans based on patient needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Maintain a safe environment to minimize healthcare errors.
• Document patient care accurately and ensure compliance with standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience (required).
• Postpartum and nursery experience (required).
• ACLS certification through AHA (required).
• BLS certification through AHA (required).
• NRP certification (required).
• Active Ohio or compact nursing license (required).
• BSN degree (preferred).
