Job Description

Seeking an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse for a fast-paced unit. Candidates must be proficient in a variety of patient care tasks and have experience with telemetry monitoring, IV protocols, and management of patients with varying diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient care for individuals with dementia, diabetes, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, and hip fractures.
  • Provide telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
  • Administer IV insulin and manage blood products.
  • Perform central line blood draws and phlebotomy.
  • Assist in pre/post-hemodialysis management and wound care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Rapid Response Teams and specialty services.
  • Utilize electronic documentation systems such as Epic and Pyxis.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg telemetry experience.
  • Telemetry certification preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Nursing license required; NC or Compact license is acceptable.
  • Previous charge experience preferred.
  • Comfortable with floating to other units as needed.
